Shannon Dijkman (Clark), PT

Shannon, originally from Fredericton NB, started her post-secondary education at UNB, where she completed a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology degree. While at UNB, Shannon was actively involved in helping and educating others, through her peer mentorship work in the Faculty of Kinesiology, her volunteering at a local physiotherapy clinic. Shannon is thrilled to be partnering with Colton and opening JD Physiotherapy, PC.

Shannon’s previous experiences led her to discover her desire to pursue a career in physiotherapy, as it encompassed her passions of helping and empowering others, combined with using exercise as medicine. This led Shannon to continue her education and obtain her Masters of Science in Physiotherapy at Dalhousie University in Halifax. Since then, she has taken several post-graduate orthopedic related courses and is trained in Functional Dry Needling. Shannon strongly believes in taking the time to listen and collaborate with her clients to develop meaningful care plans. Shannon is committed to providing exceptional client-centered care and values an active approach combined with educating clients to assist them in achieving their goals.

Outside of work hours, Shannon enjoys spending quality time with husband, friends and family, travelling, and staying active through running the trails of Fredericton, working out, and hiking around New Brunswick.

Physiotherapy with Tyler Parmiter, PT

Tyler is a physiotherapist who completed her Bachelor of Kinesiology with Honours from the University of New Brunswick in 2016. She then went on to complete her Master of Science in physiotherapy at Dalhousie University in 2019.

During her time at UNB, Tyler found an interest in helping others with their rehabilitation process. She worked as a student athletic therapist with the UNB women’s rugby team and the St. Thomas University varsity men’s basketball team. She then went on to work with the Citadel Highschool Varsity Men’s Football team while she was completing her Physiotherapy degree in Halifax.

Tyler found a passion for treating pelvic health conditions during her physiotherapy degree and completed a clinical rotation in pelvic health. She went on to complete post-graduate pelvic health certification to treat urinary incontinence, pelvic pain disorders, pelvic organ prolapse and pregnancy-related pelvic girdle pain. Tyler enjoys treating people of all ages but is especially enthusiastic to help women prepare for birth and return to physical activity postpartum.

Tyler believes in a client-centered and active approach to therapy that includes an individualized exercise program tailored to the individual and their lifestyle. She understands the importance of client education and utilizes manual therapy, exercise, soft-tissue release techniques and joint mobilizations in her practice. Her goal is to help you regain function to return to the activities you love.

Tyler lives an active lifestyle and enjoys curling, hiking, and running. When she is not in the clinic, you can find her spending time outside with her friends, family, and her dog Hewston.

Elyse Ferguson, PT

Meet Elyse, a passionate physiotherapist with a Master’s in Physiotherapy from Dalhousie University. Before that, she earned a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from UNB. Originally from the scenic shores of Nova Scotia, Elyse now calls Fredericton home, where the intricate trail system offers just the right balance of tranquility and adventure. Whether it’s hitting the trails or helping patients recover, Elyse knows a thing or two about staying in motion!

Her approach to physiotherapy is all about restoring movement, reducing pain, and enhancing well-being. Elyse creates a supportive space where patients feel empowered every step of the way – because healing is a team effort, and she’s got your back (and hips, knees, and shoulders).

Outside the clinic, Elyse enjoys staying active by playing hockey and pickleball – and she’s always happy to chat about her favorite team, the Toronto Maple Leafs (optimism is a requirement!). In her downtime, you’ll often find her crocheting something new.

So, whether you’re recovering from an injury or just looking to improve your movement, Elyse is here to guide you with expertise, encouragement, and maybe a hockey chat or two.

Jessica Smedley – Administrative Staff

Jessica is a skilled Administrative Assistant with a focus on medical administration. She completed the Office Administrative Executive program and studied Medical Terminology at Algonquin College in Ontario, where she developed a strong foundation in office operations and healthcare support.

After relocating to New Brunswick, Jessica pursued her passion for helping others by stepping into the medical administrative field — a natural fit for her compassionate nature and desire to make a difference behind the scenes.

Known for her professionalism, empathy, and organizational strengths, Jessica brings both heart and precision to her role.

When she’s not working, she enjoys exploring the outdoors with her husband and children, often finding new places to discover in nature — especially near the water, where she feels most at peace.

Heather Michaud, RMT

Heather began her journey into healing after graduating from ICT Northumberland College in Halifax in 2012. Launching her career in Kentville, NS, she quickly discovered a deep connection with myofascial techniques—an approach that gently encourages the body to heal itself. This passion naturally led her to explore other nurturing therapies such as craniosacral therapy and suikodo, expanding her skills to provide holistic, soothing care for her clients.

Though a move to New Brunswick during the COVID-19 pandemic temporarily shifted her path, Heather embraced a new chapter working alongside animals at a dog kennel and veterinary clinic. This experience sparked a new love for animal care, and she continues to dedicate a shift each month at the veterinary clinic, blending her compassion for all living beings.

When Heather isn’t helping others feel their best, you’ll find her enjoying the outdoors with family and friends or baking wholesome, “healthy” treats. Her approach to wellness is as much about balance and joy as it is about healing.
